(EntertainWire.Org) – During the 2008 Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, entertainer Jerry Lewis bragged that he would be traveling abroad in October, to do a series of comedy concerts in Australia. It will be the first time since 1999 that the comedy legend would visit the country, "down under." But while Jerry Lewis was making that announcement, his son, Rock 'n' Roll legend, Gary Lewis, was on a 747 bound for a return engagement in Manila, in the Philippines.

The popularity of Gary Lewis and the Playboys, whose 1960's mega hits include, "This Diamond Ring," and "Everybody Loves a Clown," has never diminished over the decades. Gary Lewis' Personal Manager, Rick Saphire reports that the youthful singing star "performs the ilvelyiest Rock 'n' Roll show on the face of the earth." Rick Saphire adds, "Gary Lewis' fame in Asia and Europe rivals that of his dad's. It's heartwarming to see fans old and new pouring out to see, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, wherever they perform."

Gary Lewis and the Playboys will do a total of five, sellout concerts while in the Philippines during the month of September. There is already talk of a 2009 return concert tour of the Pacific islands. In 2009, Lewis and his band will also debut a series of, "Baby Boomers" concerts featuring Lewis himself, along with other popular musical acts, and TV legends of 1950s and 1960s.
